OUR COMMITMENT
Art To Be Seen exists to make sure artists who have been overlooked are seen. That principle applies to this website. We want everyone to be able to read about our work, learn about the artists we commission, and get in touch with us, whatever technology they use to do it. Accessibility is part of the mission, not a box we're checking.
CONFORMANCE STATUS
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
We're partially conformant. That means some content doesn't fully meet the standard yet. The gaps we know about are listed below, along with what we're doing about them.

KNOWN LIMITATIONS
Some images on this site are currently without alternative text. We're writing a description for each one.
We'd rather tell people what doesn't work than claim a standard we haven't met.
WHAT WE ARE DOING ABOUT IT
Writing alternative text for every image on the site.
Adding artist credit lines, so images carry attribution as well as description.
Reviewing colour contrast and heading order across every page.
Checking that every page can be navigated with a keyboard alone.
Testing with a screen reader.
Asking artists and community members who use assistive technology to tell us what they hit.
Reviewing the site at least once a year.
COMPATIBILITY
This site is designed to work with current versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge, on both desktop and mobile, and with common screen readers including NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver.
It may not work well with very old browsers.
FEEDBACK AND HOW TO REACH US
We welcome reports. Tell us if something doesn't work for you. Email alexgrant@arttobeseen.org and put "Accessibility" in the subject line.
If you need information from this site in another format, ask and we'll provide it.
HOW THIS STATEMENT WAS PREPARED
We prepared this statement by self-evaluation against the WCAG 2.2 checkpoints, and by testing with keyboard navigation and screen readers. [9/17/26]
